all in all a very positive stay, the venue met the criteria. the room was airy, had good size bathroom and particularly good views to enjoy. location: the hotel was close to the tourist information office is, all the historic buildings and a bus/tram route. cafe double coffee opera located 1 km away was a nice surprise. the service was exceptional, including a hassle-free check-in. furthermore, free wi-fi throughout the property worked almost perfectly.

Only the location is good. Everything else was very very bad!!!!. This hotel should be taken off from Booked.net website.
Herewith a list of things that I did not like about the Hotel- 1. Staff not helpful and friendly at all 2. Carpets all over hotel very dirty and old 3. TV channels did not work. Had to move to another room. Then very noisy. Room was much smaller and view not good 4. Bathroom old with kitchen taps 5. Breakfast food finish by 09h00. No plates or bread left. Therefore could not eat breakfast. I had to buy it every morning at a nearby restaurant. 6. Please do not stay in this hotel at all....................

great ambiance but minor room issues
The service at reception was really good, as they attended to my needs in a personalized manner. The pre-holiday decorations created an inviting, festive atmosphere that lifted my spirits. I appreciated how the staff anticipated my preferences.
The room's amenities were not as modern as expected.

Hotel Riga reeks off passing glory and grandeur in a central position in a very vibrant town. The reception staff are fast and efficient, though the breakfast and bar staff are a bit slower.
The hotel was pretty full so that the ground floor was would have been best but on two mornings there was a conference there. The 1st floor (Am. second floor) restaurant is too small for large numbers, but there was however plenty of food, juice and coffee.

Location
The staff was mostly incompetent when confronted with a question. No telephone in the room, which was not great as our children were on a different floor. And the problem could not be fixed. Very smelly bathrooms. Television had terrible reception and mostly Russian channels. The breakfast hall was very un-welcoming and the buffet poor.

Perfect place to stay in Riga, view at the Opera from the room. However, still in the old Soviet Style and a little run down. Comparing to some other hotels nearby not the best.
Still ok but needs renovation soon to match the 4 star level

Hotel rooms were totally too old. Also water was brown it looks that there has not been so many people for a long time. Smell in the room was also bad.

Loved how spacious my room was, and the pool area was a perfect spot for relaxation after a long day. I really enjoyed the steam room and sauna , it felt rejuvenating! Just a minor note, the WiFi in the room could be a bit spotty at times 😊

The hotel is old but they try to keep it up to date. Rooms are spacious but bathrooms require renovation. Breakfast is good. Location is superb. Price is affordable - we paid 50 euro per night with breakfast. I recommend it.
